Why Alchemy?
At Alchemy Woods Psychotherapy, we believe that healing happens in relationship. Like the ancient art of alchemy — where ordinary elements were transformed into something precious — psychotherapy offers space for emotional transformation through connection, safety, and care.
Rooted in attachment theory, “alchemy” reflects the deeply human process of growth that emerges when we feel seen, heard, and held. In the right environment, pain can soften, resilience can grow, and something new can take shape.
Hi there!
I’m Hannah; owner and founder of Alchemy Woods Psychotherapy.
At Alchemy Woods Psychotherapy, I offer trauma-informed, client-centred psychotherapy for youth, young adults, and families. My approach is grounded in empathy and supported by evidence-based practices including EMDR, DBT, CBT and Narrative Therapy.
Whether we meet virtually or walk together through the forest, I create spaces where clients can explore safely, process deeply, and reconnect with their inner strength. My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through connection— to self, to others, and to the natural world.
I also offer parent consultations focused on attachment and supporting teens and children with mental health challenges. Together, we build pathways towards healing, insight and growth.

Background & Education
I began my psychotherapy education journey with an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. While completing my undergrad, I did as many child psychology-related jobs as I possibly could; I was a one-on-one Inclusion Support Worker for children with mental health and physical disabilities, a preschool assistant, and an early childhood development research assistant.
After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier, I spent a year as a before and after school child care teacher for the YMCA, then moved out west to begin my Master’s degree at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta.
Once I completed my 2 year Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, I returned to Ontario and began my career as a Psychotherapist at the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington.
What else should you know about me?
I am a lover of coffee, hiking, and books. If I could find a way to do all three at once, I’d be the happiest person on earth. In my spare time, I also love travelling, thrifting, and finding really good gluten-free food.
